Who are we?

We’re the Gordon Bowling Club Limited, established in 1953, and we like to think of ourselves as a bowling club of sociable people. The club is very professionally run, full of friendly faces, and caters for every type of bowler from the highly competitive to the player who just enjoys a socially relaxing game.

The “Club Limited” looks after the overall administration and finance associated with running a licensed club. Bowls activities are in the hands of the Gordon Bowling Club and the Gordon Women’s Bowling Club, who organize the men’s and women’s bowling events respectively, and join forces to run mixed days. The Board of the Club Limited and the two Club Bowls Committees are elected annually.

How can I get started at bowls?

New bowlers are always very welcome at Gordon, and it will cost you nothing while you decide whether bowls is for you. We provide the coaching, the greens and the bowls to use. All you require is a pair of sneakers, or other flat soled shoes and casual clothing.

Bowls is a game for young and old, and any time is a good time to start - for example, when you finally get through those years of driving your kids to their weekend sport, and decide it’s time to get a life for yourself!  By the way, many of us play bowls as well as another sport. Because of the frequency of bowls games, it can easily supplement your current sport. So golfers, tennis players, bushwalkers, sailing enthusiasts can all enjoy bowls as well.  Another thing - once you are a registered member you will be welcome socially or for a game at any bowling club in Australia.

Just click on this link to send us an email  Mail_to_link.jpg (2345 bytes)

Include your name, address and phone number. One of our membership committee or a coach will contact you to arrange a time for you to take a look at the club and have an introductory bowling lesson.

We look forward to welcoming you to bowls at Gordon.
